Celebrate World Fair Trade Day & you could win a People Tree wardrobe worth £300!

World Fair Trade Day on 8th May, 2010 is about celebrating and participating in Fair Trade. It is about bringing together organisations, producers, consumers, supporters and people from around the world. More importantly, it is about how each of us can participate in making the global community better and more equitable through Fair Trade.
Two People Tree producers would like to share their message with you:

Kiran Khadgi, Kumbeshaw Technical School (KTS), Nepal
“I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to all Fair Trade Partners and well wishers all over the world on the auspicious occasion of World Fair Trade Day 2010. In this occasion let us all make a promise to be more resolute to save our environment and vulnerable artisans. Let’s use environmentally friendly and natural raw materials for our produce. At same time give priority to hand work to provide livelihood to the grass root artisans.”

Monju, Artisan Hut, Bangladesh
“The theme for World Fair Trade Day 2010, Fair Trade and Diversity, is very important to us at Artisan Hut. Fair Trade is removing poverty by working for disadvantaged people, especially in my poor village in Bangladesh. It is developing the rural community, using local resources, helping the environment and many other developments. Which contribute greatly to my country’s growth.”
