		<description>Yes, Northern Laos has treasures of handicraft in its mountainous areas. Ethnic minorities have conveyed ancestral techniques of natural dyeing and hand-weaving from generation to generation.
Laos has received considerable amounts of international aid to development. However, it remains one of the poorest countries in the world !
Now that tourism is expanding quickly in Laos, you can make a difference in providing communities with alternatives to mass tourism economics and helping them to preserve their heritage-rich handicraft.
We have been working on this for the last 2 years in the Luang Prabang area and the results are tremendous.
