Kathryn Sygrove and other friends and family have long campaigned to make Durham a vibrant Fair Trade city and spread the word about People Tree locally. So can you imagine how excited I was when I found out that things had moved to a new level. The new Oxfam Boutique run by Michael Ridsdale is now stocking People Tree’s Autumn/Winter collection – and the store Is fabulous.

So I headed down there with my whole family in tow – it’s beautiful! Carefully selected recycled and vintage – all my family got something and a really good range of People Tree and Fair Trade gifts for Christmas too! The shop is just lovely – and run by the most dedicated and intelligent team of volunteers. I did a mini lecture about People Tree and my new ‘By Hand book’. I will also be doing a talk at the Chiswick Oxfam Boutique on 27th November from 7-9pm, do come along if you can!
There are gorgeous Oxfam boutiques in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Nottingham – as well as London, so it’s easier to solve the biggest complaint I hear to buying People Tree, ‘I want to try it on and I can’t find it on the high street!’
