10 year anniversary
People Tree was founded 10 years ago in the UK on a new idea – that people and the planet would always be central to everything we do. People Tree has always believed and proved that fashion can be a tool for Change. Fashion through Fair Trade, can lift people out of poverty, give them a route to sustained employment, earn a living wage, develop their communities and invest in protecting their environment.

Emma Watson visited Swallows in Bangladesh with our CEO Safia Minney, to see how People Tree clothes were made. Swallows is a village as well as a workplace for over 200 women.
Profits from their work with People Tree help cover the running costs of a school for 300 children and a daycare centre.
Visit to Agrocel – Organic Fair Trade cotton farmers in Gujurat, India
There are a total of 1005 farmers (all of which are Fairtrade, 672 farmers are organic certified too). It’s an incredibly beautiful place, 20 miles from the salt marsh and close to the border with Pakistan.
